My desire to create began in my first class in High School. Amazing teachers and friends kept me painting even as life, family and an advertising career took up most of my time. But I never stopped painting, and it has saved me during dark times. However I realized that I need to really devote time and practice if I want fulfill that dream of growing as an artist.
My introduction to serious study happened at a community college, where painting and ceramics gave me purpose. There I was taught watercolor and oil under Gary Pruner, a local prominent artist in the Sacramento, CA area. He sparked the desire to keep learning by getting involved in the local art community. There I found inspiration in local artists such as Joseph Raphael and Wayne Thiebaud, which led to studying pioneering artists such as Jackson Pollack, Jasper Johns, Chuck Close to name a few.
Years ago I moved to Whitefish, and then Lakeside to experience how the outdoor lifestyle of Montana can change me. With the pandemic finally winding down and my painting kicking back into gear I would love to become active in this amazing artists community.
